Jun 11, 2014 Use WhatsApp on PC - this process works seamlessly on Windows 7 / 8 / XP / vista. Using Bluestacks android emulator we can easily use whatsapp on computer. I expected I could use this independently of my mobile, which I can’t. I wanted to use this seamlessly with the Photos app, dragging and dropping images each way, which I can’t. I thought the desktop app would improve the media browsing, which it does not. Many of the settings available on mobile aren’t available on Mac.

This app is mostly great, it does everything that all the other paid WhatsApp applications do for free…except one - EMOJIS ON THE TOUCHBAR!
It’s so annoying to have to individually click on every emoji I want to use when plenty of other programs (including 3rd party whatsapp apps) have this function.
I feel my rating is justified because, although a seemingly small issue, touchbar support cannot be that hard to implement, and it makes sending messages (the apps main functionality) so much more tiresome than it needs to be, please devs, how hard can it be to add this in? It’s literally the apps only flaw but it’s such a huge issue and needs fixing, once that’s fixed it’ll be an easy 5 star review.
Too underequipped to be useful
It amazes me that a desktop app could be significantly less powerful and capable than a mobile app. I wanted to use this for video calls from my Mac, which I can’t. I expected to be able to update my status from the desktop app, which I can’t. I expected I could use this independently of my mobile, which I can’t. I wanted to use this seamlessly with the Photos app, dragging and dropping images each way, which I can’t. I thought the desktop app would improve the media browsing, which it does not. Many of the settings available on mobile aren’t available on Mac either.
I don’t understand the point of WhatsApp Desktop - the only benefit I can see is that you can type with a real keyboard. I also use Viber, which has an excellent fully-featured desktop app that syncs with your other devices, but doesn’t require tethering to my mobile. WhatsApp / Facebook really should take a lesson from them. It is exactly the same as the web-based app available via your browser, so why waste disk space downloading this program?
Very useful app
This application does exactly what it says it will do; it gives access to the WhatsApp messaging system from your computer. I'm using it on two computers, an iMac and the MacBook air. I have no conflict problems. Of course, it will only work when it is range of your mobile phone because it is using the phone to access the system. I find it extremely useful to keep up-to-date with WhatsApp messages from friends and family without having to switch to my mobile phone, exactly as Messages does for text messages on my iPhone. All singing and all dancing? No! But it does do what it promises to do. And it is free.

Use WhatsApp on Mac
The main advantage of using WhatsApp on Mac is that you will be able to make use of the large storage capacity on your Mac to download WhatsApp Images and Videos.
Similarly, you will be able to send large documents, images and files directly from your Mac to others using WhatsApp.

Steps to Get WhatsApp on Mac
Follow the steps below to get WhatsApp on Mac using either the default Safari or Chrome Browser on your Mac.
What Mac Os To Use
1. Open Safari or Chrome browser on your Mac and go to Web.Whatsapp.com
2. You will see a webpage with WhatsApp QR Code and instructions to Scan the QR Code using your smartphone.
3. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone > tap on Settings > WhatsApp Web/Desktop option in the slide-up menu.

4. On the next screen, you will be prompted to scan the QR Code. Tap on OK. Got it and use the Rear Camera of your iPhone to Scan the QR Code displayed on the screen of your Mac.
5. Once the QR Code is scanned by your iPhone or Android Phone you will immediately see all your WhatsApp Messages being populated on the screen of your Mac.
As mentioned above, you will basically see a large screen version of your entire WhatsApp Account and you will be able to send and receive WhatsApp Messages, just like you do on your smartphone.
How to Logout of WhatsApp on Mac
After using WhatsApp on Mac, make sure that you Log Out of WhatsApp on Mac. Just closing the browser tab on Mac will still keep you logged-in to WhatsApp, allowing others to see your WhatsApp Messages.

The canon software that I downloaded for the computer also says that a camera hasn't been detected. It seems like there are a lot of directions for Windows users but there's not a lot to go off of for mac users. Any suggestions? Best canon elph camera software mac os x. 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 etc).

To Log Out of WhatsApp on Mac, click on the 3-dots menu icon and click on Log Out option in the drop-down menu.
In case you forget to Log Out of WhatsApp on Mac, you can use your iPhone or Android Phone to remotely Logout of WhatsApp on Mac.
